2012 Established

How East Coast Wings Found Its Soul

East coast wings started as a simple dream: serve the freshest, boldest chicken wings on the Maine coast. In 2012, founder Marcus Reid opened our first kitchen on Ocean Street in Rockland with nothing but a handful of recipes, a wood-fired smoker, and an unwavering belief that great wings deserve great sauce.

What began as a small takeout counter quickly became a community gathering spot. Word spread fast — locals and visitors alike couldn't get enough of our handcrafted sauces, crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside wings, and the warm atmosphere that made every visit feel like coming home.

Over a decade later, East coast wings has grown into a beloved Rockland institution. We still use the same time-honored techniques and locally sourced ingredients that made us famous, because real flavor doesn't take shortcuts.

2012

The First Wing is Served

Marcus Reid opens East coast wings at 58 Ocean St with a tiny kitchen, a wood-fired smoker, and six signature sauces. Lines form within the first week.

2014

First Expansion & Dine-In Opens

Demand grows too big for takeout alone. We renovate the space, add 40 dine-in seats, and introduce our beloved craft beer pairings menu.

2016

Sauce Lab Launched

We dedicate a full station to sauce R&D. Our legendary "Ghost Tide" and "Maine Maple Blaze" varieties debut and become instant fan favorites.

2018

"Best Wings in Maine" Award

Maine Food & Travel Magazine names East coast wings the best chicken wing restaurant in the state — an honor we celebrate with our community.

2020

Pivoting Through Challenges

We launch our online ordering system and expand curbside pickup, keeping Rockland fed through tough times with contactless delivery options.
